Fallingwater Twilight Tour Welcomes 250 Jazzed Picnicers
Edgar J. Kaufmann jr. (sic) once described Fallingwater as "a great lantern in the forest, giving shape to the dark." In a couple of weeks you can have the opportunity to see this for yourself at the tenth Fallingwater Twilight Tour and Dinner.
Fallingwater is one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most widely acclaimed works. Designed in 1935 for the family of Pittsburgh department store owner Edgar J. Kaufmann, the key to the setting of the house is the waterfall over which it was built. In 1963, Edgar Kaufmann jr. presented the house, its contents and grounds to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Fallingwater is the only remaining great Wright house with its setting, original furnishings and artwork intact.
Proceeds from the evening support the continued preservation of Fallingwater.
Tickets for the August 25, 2007 Fallingwater Twilight Tour and Evening of Jazz fundraiser are $175 per person ($150 per person for members of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy).
