Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Chooses
Green Power for Barn at Fallingwater

(Mill Run, Pennsylvania January 3, 2007) Effective this month, Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (WPC) has agreed to renew its purchase of 50 percent green power for the Barn at Fallingwater through Renewable Choice Energy's green power program. This program subsidizes the generation of renewable energy sources that make cleaner energy available to all consumers.

”The goal of the Barn at Fallingwater project has been to reinforce WPC’s commitment to conservation ethics through thoughtful balance between nature and good design,” said Lynda Waggoner, Vice President of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and Director of Fallingwater.  “The purchase of green power for the Barn furthers this goal, and we hope it will inspire more individuals and organizations to think about their impact on the global environment and how they can help to reduce it.”

Renewable Choice Energy provides renewable energy certificates sourced 100 percent from renewable sources. By offsetting 50 percent of electricity used with renewable energy sources, the Barn at Fallingwater will avoid the creation of 104,400 pounds of carbon dioxide air pollution. This is equivalent to not driving a car over 113,974 miles or planting 14 acres of trees.

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has shown foresight in that the decisions made today will effect generations to come. By purchasing renewable energy, the Barn at Fallingwater is ensuring a brighter, cleaner future for us all," said Quayle Hodek, CEO of Renewable Choice Energy. "Renewable energy is now available anywhere in the country for individuals, companies, institutions and governments looking for an alternative to fossil fuel energy generation."

Based in Boulder, Colo., Renewable Choice Energy promotes the development of clean alternatives to fossil fuels.  Renewable Choice connects renewable energy producers with forwards-thinking consumers including Fortuner 500 companies, cities, universities and residential customers across the country.  As a pioneer in wind power marketing, Renewable Choice Energy has helped develop many Industry standards and best practices, and is the leading supplier to LEED-certified green building projects.
