Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has long been active in northwestern Pennsylvania. Recently a place-based approach to conservation in our priority areas has led to the establishment of the Northwest Field Station at Lake Pleasant. Staffed by a Watershed Conservationist, this facility will be WPC's link to the northwestern Pennsylvania community and our base for science and conservation efforts in this glacial region.
Committed to conserving western Pennsylvania's areas of high biological diversity as well as its areas of scenic and recreational importance, WPC biologists have focused on French Creek for two decades. With the establishment of the Northwest Field Station, our goal is to increase scientific research in the French Creek watershed and to promote the conservation of this watershed and the unique glacial lakes of northwestern Pennsylvania.
