Giving at Year End

With the end of the year rapidly approaching, now is an ideal time to make certain you have accomplished your charitable goals for 2006. Your support of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy helps us reach our goals of protecting precious land and water resources, greening our community and preserving Fallingwater. Together, we CAN make a difference!

Gifts to the WPC can be made by check, credit card or online at www.paconserve.org. All gifts mailed or otherwise delivered by December 31 qualify for tax deductibility for 2006. You may want to consider a gift of stock, bonds or mutual funds. Assets that have increased in value since you have owned them can result in extra tax savings. Please contact your financial advisor or our office for more information.

If you are over the age of 70, you may want to consider making a gift directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). As part of the Pension Protection Act of 2006, Congress has made it possible to make tax-free charitable gifts from your IRA.

Many people also review their long-range estate and financial plans toward the end of the year. A gift through your will, life insurance policy or other planned vehicles can offer unique opportunities to leave a legacy in supporting the WPC.

Giving a WPC Gift Membership celebrates our natural world while protecting and restoring our state's magnificent resources. For $25, the recipient will receive a free admission to Fallingwater, an invitation to our Annual Meeting/Members Day, and regular issues of CONSERVE to keep up-to-date on our conservation work.
