Welcome Denny McGrath - WPC's New President and CEO
A message from WPC Board Chairman E. Michael Boyle

I am pleased to welcome Dennis McGrath as Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s new president and chief executive officer. In unanimously electing Denny as our new president, the Board of Directors feels that Denny possesses the expertise and leadership to carry forward the tradition and goals of Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (WPC). With more than 20 years of experience at The Nature Conservancy, Denny has the strong management ability, diverse conservation background and strategic visioning to advance WPC’s goals in conserving our precious natural resources for the benefit and enjoyment of this and future generations.

Denny’s election marks the culmination of an extensive national search for the Conservancy’s new leader. More than 100 candidates from across the country, with a wide range of backgrounds and extensive experience in conservation, expressed interest in leading our organization. It was clearly evident that Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has a prominent national profile and excellent reputation among conservation and environmental organizations. I am proud of our outstanding tradition of innovation, preservation, restoration and, most of all, our work in helping others succeed in the cause of conservation.

Over the years this organization has celebrated many successes. I look forward to working with Denny to achieve even higher standards for conserving and enhancing the natural health and beauty of our region. I know he is eager to begin working with our many strategic partners, supporters and volunteers to carry forward the important work of the Conservancy.
As we begin this transition to our new president, I want to thank you for your help and support during my time as acting president. As chairman of the board I will strive to be a strong leader and champion for all aspects of our work.

The board is extremely optimistic about our future. Its members are pleased and excited to have Denny join us as our president. I hope you will join me in welcoming Denny and his family to Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and to Pennsylvania.

E. Michael Boyle Chairman of the Board
