WPC Elects New Board Members

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy members elected three new board members at their annual meeting in September. Caryle Glosser, Paul Mooney and Edith Shapira were each elected to three-year terms.

Caryle Glosser, Ph.D. has been involved with Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for many years, most recently serving on both WPC’s Ligonier Valley Advisory Committee and Nominating Committee.

Caryle spent 23 years in the private practice as a clinical psychologist in addition to staff appointments at Shadyside Hospital and Eye and Ear Hospital.

Paul J. Mooney is Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corporation and is a member of their Board of Directors. He is a Certified Public Accountant with 24 years of experience with PriceWaterhouse LLP.
He is a past member of the Pittsburgh Symphony Society Board as well as a past Director of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. He is a School Board Director in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Edith Laura Shapira, M.D. is a private practice psychiatrist and a clinical professor in psychiatry at UPMC.

Edie’s many community projects include serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Riverlife Task Force and The Pittsburgh Foundation. She also serves on the Sports and Exhibition Authority, a joint City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County public authority.
