The 2003 Bergamots are here and in mint condition Wild bergamot is blooming. This member of the mint family resembles Oswego-tea, but its flower is pink or lilac instead of brilliant red. Wild bergamot, like many mints, has an abundance of oil in its leaves and flowers that give it a refreshing odor. A tea can be made by steeping the fresh or dried leaves and flowerheads in hot water for ten minutes. Just sweeten to your taste. This mint grows to waist-height and is found in moist open areas, often at lower elevations or along the riparian zones of streams. E-mail Today's WPC Daily to a Friend!
