Wood
from this tree is highly prized for furniture making. However,
it is very expensive due to the scarcity of the trees. The
edible walnuts which it produces are a delicious treat when
they mature in the fall. Several species of the tree are grown
just for commercial production of the nuts. It also features
highly aromatic foliage.
