The gorgeous
early spring flowers of this popular magnolia are the result
of an experimental hybrid crossing of two Chinese trees that
took place in France. It flowers when it is still just a small
shrub, but can grow to become a large ornamental tree. It is
quite susceptible to frost damage. In the spring, look for
this beautiful tree in just about every Pittsburgh neighborhood.
