Leaf Color Range

This common tree can be found in just about every Pittsburgh neighborhood. It is covered with white blossoms in April. A very beautiful tree, it grows very well in the Pittsburgh area. Because the pear tree is so hardy, it survives where other trees do not.

Height: 30’-50’ with a 20’-30’ spread.
Leaves: 1-1/2”-3” long, about as wide. Alternate simple. Broad-ovate to ovate. Lustrous dark green, changing to yellow or scarlet in fall.
Habitat: In most soil conditions, but also found in dry soil in almost every city in the United States.
