Leaf Color Range

Also called the “varnish tree” or “tree of India,” this oriental transplant was introduced to America in the 1760s. It features spectacular yellow flowers in summer along with very dense foliage. It is a great lawn tree and is ideal for shading a porch or patio or wherever space is limited.

Height: 30’-40’ with a widespreading crown.
Leaves: Alternate, pinnately or bipinnately compound, 6”-18” long with 7-15 leaflets 1”-4” long. Rich green and smooth above; slightly hairy on the veins beneath, turning yellow or orange yellow in autumn.
Habitat: A native of central and western China and the mountains of Japan.
