A beautiful
spring-blossoming tree with white or pink flowers, it can be
found in many yards and gardens. Because of its hardness, the
wood is often used in crafting small objects such as loom shuttles,
jeweler’s blocks and pulleys. Leaf blight disease makes
this native dogwood difficult to grow in Pittsburgh.
