Leaf Color Range

This tree has been growing and reproducing itself for 100 million years! A fast-growing ornamental that is well suited to parks, golf courses and other open areas around Pittsburgh. It is very impressive in large groupings such as along roadsides.

Height: 70’-100’ but can grow to 120’ with a conical, pyramidal shape. Develops a broad, rounded crown with age.
Needles: 1/2” long, 1/16” broad. Opposite in arrangement. Bright green overall, changing to orangeish or reddish brown in autumn.
Habitat: In moist, deep, well-drained, slightly acid soils. Native to China.
