This
fast-growing hybrid was planted widely in Pittsburgh at the
turn of the century. Most have died from a fungus disease.
One of the last remaining large trees can be viewed in front
of Mercy Providence hospital in Allegheny Commons Park in the
North Side.

a spreading crown to 50’-70’. |
| Leaves: 3”-6” long,
about as wide. Alternate, simple, medium green above and bright
green below. |
| Habitat: Quebec
to North Dakota to Florida. Native to North America. |
