The Heritage Circle: Establishing a Legacy of Support for Western Pennsylvania’s Future

The Heritage Circle is a recognition society that honors individuals who have included the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in their estate plans. The support of Heritage Circle members is critical to the long-term success of the Conservancy.

On December 17, 2010, the United States Congress re-enacted provisions that allow individuals to make tax-free distributions from their individual retirement plans for charitable purposes. See how you can take advantage of this tax law and help the Conservancy at the same time.

Heritage Circle members support our future with gifts from their estates, including:

  • Bequests
  • Legacy gifts of retirement funds and IRAs
  • Charitable gift annuities, remainder trusts, lead trusts and other life income plans
  • Gifts of life insurance where WPC is listed as the owner and beneficiary

These estate gifts allow donors to create plans that benefit not only WPC but also, in many cases, you or your family.

By adding the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy to your estate plan, you bestow upon us an honor that we take seriously. We are committed to ensuring that Heritage Circle members receive regular “insider” updates on our work, exclusive complimentary invitations to special events and outings, a subscription to Conserve magazine, passes to Fallingwater upon request, and, if you desire, a personal update on our progress in areas of interest to you from a WPC senior staff member. By adding WPC to your estate plans, you’ve treated us like family—and we will do the same for you.

Please note: We recommend that you consult with your financial advisor to assure that your gift meets your individual needs.
