The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is pleased to recognize Direct Energy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for their continuous support throughout the last three years. Direct Energy has provided significant financial support and countless volunteer hours toward our community flower gardens, Downtown greening efforts and the TreeVitalize Pittsburgh project.

A highlight of our partnership in 2010 was working together on PARK(ing) Day — an international event to dramatize the impact of greening in urban spaces.

Direct Energy volunteers and WPC staff transformed the parking lot on 8th Street and Penn Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh into a green oasis, exhibiting trees, planters, hanging baskets and a green sitting area in a very unexpected location.
