Downtown Planters

Pittsburgh's Downtown Planters are now set for cold temperatures with their winter displays throughout the Golden Triangle.  The displays now contain plant combinations of Alberta Spruce, juniper 'Blue Rug', chamaecyparis 'Gold Thread', and juniper 'Sea-Green'.

Situated throughout Downtown Pittsburgh, the beautiful planters enhance the streetscape and provide an enjoyable view for pedestrians and passersby alike. The Colcom Foundation initially supported the 400 large planters as a bouquet of flowers in the Golden Triangle to celebrate the City of Pittsburgh's 250th Birthday in 2008. They renewed the project again in 2009 to ensure a fixture of attractive greenery all over the Downtown area.
