Applying to TreeVitalize
The TreeVitalize Pittsburgh Planting Program supports street tree, park, and riverfront plantings by supplying trees and limited services to help prepare planting locations within the City of Pittsburgh, in City and County parks, and along riverfront trails.
All City of Pittsburgh neighborhoods are eligible to participate in TreeVitalize. Please contact call us at 412-586-2396 or email us at trees@paconserve.org to discuss your community’s goals and preparedness.
Submitting an application does not guarantee your group will receive trees. Funding for seasonal plantings is limited. Eligibility and selection criteria are described in the downloadable documents below.
The application for Spring 2011 TreeVitalize plantings is available here. All applications are due before 4 p.m. on August 27, 2010. The City of Pittsburgh Tree Request form is also required and can be found here.

- have demonstrated the capacity to organize volunteers for planting and stewardship activities;
- have a low number of trees per resident;
- have a predominance of residents at or below the median income;
- are implementing other environmental improvements such as stormwater best management practices; and/or
- are implementing other community improvements such as beautification, residential redevelopment or business district reinvestment
Parks and riverfront tree plantings will be targeted towards areas that:
